Life has been a little hectic for me over the past few months. I am not sure anyone told me how busy life would be when I became an adult. I should have relished all of those free mornings I had as a child, watching cartoons and eating bowl after bowl of overly sugared cereal.
My son was born on Sunday the 14th of March in the early hours and since then, it feels like we have not stopped to do anything but childcare. It's been a fantastic experience, if a tiring one. I am still in a little in shock that we were allowed to take him home with us without completing a full year of parent classes or even applying for a parent learning permit.
As I am sure you know, I have a day job that has been exceptionally busy over the past few months. It seems the pandemic has been very good for the web development business. I am glad of the work as it keeps food on the table, but it is getting a little much for me. I think a little break is required in the coming months.
The above has caused me to halt all writing and writing related things. In the coming months, I will get back into the writing with a serious aim of getting my novella Theft Of Light released and get a first pass edit done for my first novel. The novel is yet to be announced, but I am happy to say I have written it.
I also hope to write and share a few short stories both in my newsletter and also here on my site. I love short stories because they can explore an idea quickly without having to delve into as much detail as a full novel or novella. My aim is to release one every few months with updates like these between.
Maps! So, I have been looking into getting some maps designed for The Rule of Light series of books. I set most of the books around Haranda, a huge sprawling city, which I have designed a basic map for myself. I will hopefully get a designer to create a proper map of the city for readers to follow all the specific directions and action around the streets.
